What's happening at Hamerkaz during the High Holidays?

To Our Beloved Hamerkaz Family

As we approach the High Holidays of 5784-2023, we have much to celebrate. This year marks a double milestone for our community: 10 years in our beloved new home and a quarter-century since our community's inception. Over the past 25 years, we've grown together, fostering a space filled with love, warmth, and mutual growth. The SHUL-A-BRATION this year is not just a reflection of where we've been, but an invitation to journey together into an even brighter future.

What Are the High Holidays?
The two-day holiday of Rosh Hashanah is the head of the Jewish year, the time when G‑d reinvests Himself in creation as we crown Him king of the universe through prayer, shofar blasts, and celebration. A week later, the High Holidays reach their crescendo with Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement). Like angels, we neither eat nor drink for 25 hours. Dressed in white, we pray in the synagogue—united as one people, children of One Father.
