Building Our New Synagogue, Education and Community Centre

Be Part of Building Our Future!

Hamerkaz Shelanu began in 1998 with a dream.  It materialised much faster and grew beyond our expectations.

Thanks to the generosity of many generous individuals in our community, Hamerkaz Shelanu Incorperated has been successful in securing and purchasing a property at 569 Glenhuntly Road, Elsternwick, which will be developed into a multi-level and multi-purpose Synagogue, Education and Community Centre of the future.

We are enthusiastically looking forward to building our future. Be part of this exciting project!

Behind The Scenes

Following the Tribunal's (VCAT) order to the Glen Eira City Council to grant us our Permit, we have worked tirelessly to re-draw the plans in accordance with the Tribunal's conditions. Although these conditions included just minor changes, the overall design, had to be revisited.

Once finished, we submitted the revised plans to Council for final approval, unfortunately, Council still choose to create more challenges and delays. Finally, after a lot of hard work, Council issued us the long awaited plans earlier this year - i.e. final plans are now stamped and approved by Council.

Currently on the Agenda is raising the funds. Before the building can begin, we must secure the neccesary funds for the center. To speed things up, we need a Fundraising Team of Volunteers to join the Building Team. This is the time and it's up to each one of us.

We rely on the generosity of the Community to contribute to the Building Fund (all donations are fully Tax Deductible).

Dedication opportunities are now available.

Together, G-d willing, we will turn this dream into a reality.
